I AM A GIRL!!!

I was at JCPenney two different times this week & both times someone came up to Cassidy & said "Oh, what a cute little boy." Yes, Cassidy is bald but I always dress her like a little girl. Occasionally (& one of these times) I put her in a green shirt but it did have a flower on it & matching purple pants. And today she was in a pink shirt, purple pants, & pink princess shoes. Her coat was gray but it had pink trim & pink flowers all over it! She was even holding a baby doll for goodness sake! Usually I just smile & get over it, but because it happened twice I was tempted to go buy a big ol' bow to put on her head & a sign that says clearly "I AM A GIRL!"

This is the exact outfit. Oh well, whether people think she's a girl or boy she's a pretty cute kid!

MY LATEST PROJECT

I was stepping out on a limb with this one. Scrapbook, cardmaking I can do no problem, doing sewing type stuff, working with upholstery is not something I've ever done. My friend Sarah Owens inspired me, (thanks Sarah!) So while my parents were here this weekend they helped me recover my kitchen chairs. Our table was given to us & I have never really loved it. The main reason was the chairs. They were green vinyl & some of them had rips in them, they definitely had personality. I went to JoAnns & for $14 (which I had in our household items envelope - Dave Ramsey would be proud!) I got very cute upholstery. I had enough left over I was even able to cover folding chairs we had that were pretty dirty. Here are some pictures:

I was a little hesitant to do this because I was worried about what she would say. I go to bed about every night & think 'I didn't play with her enough today'. Her answers told me I do play with her & it is so important to her that I do!

CASSIDY'S BOO-BOO

While at church 2 weeks ago, Cassidy attempted to ride on a tricycle & fell off & hit right on the edge of a table leg. It was really scary (more for me than her!) & she ended up being ok, it just left a nice mark!

SACRIFICES

I love, love, love Bath & Body Works hand soap - It has become all I use. But, we are doing Financial Peace University by Dave Ramsey. We are currently working on Baby Step #1 - Save, save, save. We are trying to live like no one else, so later we can live like no one else. Kind of hard, but it will be worth it!
Well, I am running out of the hand soap. Bummer! So, one way I am making sacrifices is not going to buy more. I have a couple bottles of Wal-mart brand peach scented soap & they smell just fine but I just haven't been using them because I like the B&B Works better. I can usually get them for pretty cheap because they are always on sale, but I am not going to this time! I am going to sacrifice & use the soap I already have.
Hard, but we are one step closer to Financial Peace!
